I used these as a way to hide cables in the wall moving between the tv, sound bar and cable box. They work very well for this purpose.

We had a waterfall of cords going over the corner edge of our counter. It looked bad and the barstools would catch and pull the cords. I bought these hole caps and cut a hole where I could mount a power strip under the counter lip. The cap hole neatly holds 2 lamp cords, 1 phone charger cord, 1 phone landline, and 1 landline phone power cord. The I.D. of the cord cap hole is about 1.37" or about 35mm. A standard two or three prong american plug head will fit through just fine, but not a plug with a DC inverter head. I'm very pleased how it turned out.

The 1 1/2" size worked well for fitting an extension cord through the grommet. Any smaller and I don't think the extension cord would have fit. The caps/covers fit on tightly. The plastic is fairly thin on these. Normally, that's a bad thing. But, I needed to enlarge the cap to fit a thick 10 gauge extension cord. It was simple to use a dremel tool to enlarge the opening to make the thick cord fit through the cap.

They arrived very quickly! Fit in 1 1/2” holes in back of bookcase with ease! Grommet fits in and cover/wire hole snaps in.
