These inserts are made for thin wall application. There is about a 1/8" wide slot that is at the 1 5/8" dimension. These will work great in a thin wall cabinet with a material thickness of 1/8" or less.

These are very nice grommets and are thick/durable. Can be used as solid plugs or as pass thru for hoses/lines. I used these on a vehicle firewall to insulate where the wiring harness and copper supply lines enter the interior. They fit well/snug and do the job. I'm very happy with them.

bought these to plug a hole under a ceramic tree I painted for the holidays. Was a weird size and the light fixture would not stay up because the hole was too big to support it. This fit the diameter perfectly and I am happy with the result, however, now I have 5 rubber pieces I don't need. Anyone want them? ;)
