The description claims it goes out to 43”. However it maxes out at 41.5”. It also feels like if it were to actually reach, it would just bend with no weight on it at all. Cheap in the worst ways and just a lie.

I wanted to hang some heavier curtains (2 pounds) to block a doorway from the cold. These can easily hold that amount of weight. However, It would be even better if the tension spring inside the rod were "longer" so that the rod could exert more pressure against the two sides of the doorway . There really should be more flexibility in the springiness, but I am suspecting that the reason is the shortness of the internal spring. Nevertheless, they do work, but won't hold if significant pulling or a catch on something being carried through the dooorway catches. Hope this helps your deciision making.

I read the reviews and was on fence about them. I ordered because you can return. I am using these with blackout curtains on hallway and little area at back door to use to block hot,cold and bugs flying in. So far they get a lot of traffic for hallway and taking dogs out and going to bedroom near back door. So far have held up very well no issues with us walking through and dogs running through too.

They seemed sturdy until i started to hang very light weight doll cloths on them and after only a couple it came down, i have tried several atlernative methods to get it to say up, nothing has worked. To late to return so i am out the money

They are suspension rods, at the size I wanted they seem a little weak. Will let you know later how they hold up.
