Initially, I was not impressed with the fact that the product had what looked like rust on it and the reamer still had bits of metal on the end from the production process. However, when I went to ream the hole after cleaning and oiling the reamers, I was impressed. Take your time with reaming and make sure your equipment is dead on so the reamer doesn’t wobble. You want to use just the right amount of pressure and you will get the job done. This is just the right size for custom tail stock that I’m making using #2 Morse Taper.

I'm refurbishing an old powermatic 90 wood lathe, and the MT2s on both the spindle and the tail stock were pretty gnarly. This cleaned them right up.

Nice set of morse taper #2 reamers, easy to use, good quality for the price, made to be used by hand but you can use them in the lathe tailstock if you use the lowest speed and slow feed, and lot of cutting oil. Just let the cutter do his job ,dont force it- It made a nice smooth taper , very happy with the result.a good addition for the home machinist

These are the same product you see everywhere under different names. Even where sellers use black and white or rotate the image to fool you. They are decently made. The cutting edges are lapped after grinding. They come in a small sliding box and are wrapped in paper (paper not labeled VCI). Overall they are a good choice for fixing up a beat to snot MT2 socket.

These reamers came fairly dull and when tried on the tapers produced a crooked / out of round result. They were Ridgely mounted correctly in plane to the item being reamed. Most likely great for cleaning rust or debris but not correcting marring or scratches.
