I liked this for first use, a little hard to get open first time but it felt secure while using. Didn’t see anything about handles while in use so I played it safe and removed the screw in handles while it was on the grill. When done I screwed the handle in for ease of removal. Use a hot pad or towel to open cause it’s hot off the grill. A little difficult to clean

These grill baskets are good for keeping your food items contained while cooking, as long as you make certain the lid is securely fastened. (The first time we used these baskets, the lid came off while turning the food, dropping our veggies all over the grill. My son said he may not have completely secured the lid, so fault remains undetermined.) In subsequent uses, the lid became overly tight, to the point the included "lid loosening tool" was no match for the challenge, and considerable force was required using two (heat-protected) hands to finally get the lid loose from the basket. By that time, the food had cooled. The lid was nowhere near as difficult to remove when the basket was cool, precooking.Perhaps I just got a misshapen basket/lid combination, but the lid removal problems make this more trouble than it's worth for this customer.

These grill baskets are exactly what I was looking for as I grill a lot of fresh vegetables. I have tried a few other baskets for doing this but both of them have the holes too wide and my vegetables either fall through the holes or fall over the edge when I try to move them around to grill evenly. When I saw these enclosed rolling baskets I felt like I found a solution to my problem with grilling vegetables. They indeed work very well for this and I do not have any issue with the vegetables falling out in any way. What I did have was trouble opening the end after grilling and difficulty cleaning them. The cleaning problem I was able to solve by soaking them in hot soapy water right away, sometimes with a little bit of baking soda in it, and then using a bottle brush to clean them. The included pull hook does help to pull open the basket. It is much easier and the other thing I did was to spray the lid with cooking spray before putting it on and it has really decreased the incidence of difficulty.

I love grilled vegetables. Husband is our griller and hates to keep stirring the vegetables. So, this is a perfect solution. I prepared the vegetables, put a small amount of oil in bowl and stir so they are lightly covered, load them into baskets cover them and store in refrigerator until ready. Then on the grill. Still learning to make sure lid is on tight. So nice to just give them a swirl to evenly cook them. They come out evenly cook with very little trouble. Lid needs a good pull to come off. After cooking I put the empty baskets in the sink with hot water and dawn. I use a SOS pad up down and inside the baskets and they come pretty clean. Worth a little extra work for great grilled vegetables.
