These worked well for me in the side of a 35 gallon poly barrel that is curved. I wish they had a flat on the barrel so it could be held with a wrench from outside the barrel. Overtightening these will cause the washer to sqeeze out.

I drilled a 7/8inch hole in an aluminum plate for a test fit and it worked well. The outside ring nut fit well and tightened the gaskets well forming a waterproof seal. When I screwed a 3/8 pipe nipple into the bulkhead fitting it would only go in two threads before stopping because the internal threads are straight threads and not tapered pipe threads. In order to use these I will rethread the inner diameter with a 3/8 inch pipe die. The price is reasonable for a brass item. I would recommend it only if you can make the the internal threads work for your situation.

These worked perfect for rain barrel, no leaks. I did use pipe thread sealant. Standard 3/4 NPT brass valve screwed into the threads just fine.

Cut my hole and popped it right in and it tightened up nicely. No leaking from it. I had lower quality ones that stripped when installing but these didn't do that.

These fittings have a parrallel thread and cannot be used with npt fittings.They will work with garden hose IF you get the one with 3/4 outside thread but i was under the impression they are standard pipe thread and got the 1/2 od ones now im not sure how ill make it work.Quality product for price though i must say.
