I got these to add to my lashing and tie-down options and capabilities for my SUV, primarily for the roof rack. I plan on using them to hold a ladder and other objects that need to be strongly secured to the rack.I've seen in multiple other reviews that the clamps aren't installed correctly and that they have failed; I can't attest to this as I've not used the cables yet, and I'm probably never going to be applying enough weight to pull the cable loose, as the strength in my application will come from wrapping the cable around the object I'm securing and the roof rack, and the cable won't be supporting a lot of weight by the ends only.The rollers that came with these are nicely machineed and polished and rotate very smoothly on the pins that serve as axles. I would apply some light grease like white lithium when installing them and then check them periodically to ensure they're still smooth and free of grit internally.Overall the quality of materials here is high. The only potential downfall is the clamps coming loose (which is a huge safety issu; you don't want your trailer gate falling on you or anyone else, or just falling).If you're going to use these for a trailer gate or any other heavy object, you need to remove the clamps and put a different type on,.!.tn
