You can use a rock, or other item but why take the chance you may not find one. This is perfect. Just add sand and it's always ready to be used. One leaa thing to worry about

I have a couple very similar weight bags from a different manufacturer, and both work more-or-less fine. I selected these hoping the design would be a little different from the others, but they're the same. My recommendation would be to make them more adjustable, as the velcro part is very small, so you can really only adjust them by an inch or so, and they drape over the sewer hose and rest on the ground if the hose is less than a few inches off the ground. Other than that, these work as well as the others, and I like that they're bright orange and reflective. The zipper works on all four bags, and they should last longer than I need them.
