The item itself is decent quality considering the low cost and if you can get it installed it works fine.BUT installation won't be easy on most motorcycles. I can't speak to very small displacement bikes like Honda Monkeys or mopeds. But on anything 400cc or over the shifter peg is much larger than the holes on these.The photos shows the shifter from a Honda 600RR and the rubber cover that comes with it. Note how much larger the hole is than on this product. There is not enough oil in the world to allow this to slip onto that shifter without modification. Why they make it so small is anyone's guess.I ended up using a drill to make the hole bigger. It eventually fit but it took some time and patience. Overall not sure "the book is worth the candle" for this considering the amount of effort required.
