I'm always on the lookout for raw materials that will come in handy for a project. Sometimes before I know what the project is. This is one of those times. I ordered these not having a need at the moment, but thinking ahead to upcoming projects where I might be needing some nice rust free stainless steel rods. If nothing else, they may become stakes in the garden. And if that is the case, they will still be rust free and look as good as new when I do have a grand idea on where else I can put them to use.These rods are consistent in shape and polish. They do have a bit of distortion on each end from when they were sheared into sections. I wish they were twice as long or better, but they are what they are.

AWCLUB’s 8mm stainless steel rods are straight and have a nice surface finish. They will work with 608Z roller blade bearings. For the rods I received, the bearing was a slide fit not a press fit. The rod was approximately 0.1mm undersized. The length dimensions matched my order. A not so nice feature of these rods is that they are sheared from a longer bar, not sawed, or parted. There are shear marks at each end and the ends are slightly distorted by the shear (see photos). Depending on your project these marks and distortions could be an issue if you are using the full length of the rod.
