This is a wonderful kit for the kids. My child loves origami in general and this kit is her favorite. It's especially helpful that it comes with pre-printed paper for things like the dogs, birds, and shuttle. These are all wonderful touches that make using the kit a joy.My gripe here is that the instructions, while good and certainly ok for an adult, sometimes lack detail enough for a child. They don't miss steps or anything like that but they do miss the directionality of things. That is, does the part get folded down or up? They will sometimes only show the end result but not the direction that something was folded.This would be a 4.4/4.5 star for me if I am honest.

The paper smells pretty bad. I'm letting it off-gas outside, hopefully the smell goes away.But the paper is a nice thickness, very workable. And the patterns are interesting.The photos make it look like vibrant colors, but about half of these are actually subdued colors.The book is great for beginners, a handy resource with lots of ideas for learning new origami projects.

Written instructions are just ok. The picture instructions are easy to follow. Designs are ok. Some a really cute. But the kiddos had fun making all of them.
