These are great. every time they appear in my Vine Feed I grab them as small planer knives tend to break or shatter when used for extended periods on Hardwoods. Most of my Projects that require the use of a Planer is on hardwoods like Oak, Cherry or Ash. Any blade will become brittle when subjected to abuse for a long time. I feel these are well made and hold an edge for a decent amount of time. If you swap them out you can put a slightly better edge on them but sharpening Carbide isn't easy. good Product and I will get 3 blade changes from this set.

They seem to be fine. No signs of chipping from rattling around inside. Tho kinda disgusting that I found human hairs inside. Took one star off for that.

Arrived with all blades jumbled in small plastic case. No separators or packing to prevent blades from hitting each other. Fortunately no obvious nicks or chips. Every blade was filthy with what appeared to be black grinding/lapping media and oil. Cleaned up with paper towels and acetone. Blades strongly attracted to magnet - very hard to tell if they were carbide. Fit planer well, cut well. No impression yet on how long they will last on hardwood. Will report back if shorter than brand name blades. Repoting back: yes they cut well but surface ends up angled/crooked. The blades are the correct length but narrower by a a number of mils and the retaining groove is wider by a number of mils then standard blades. I believe they tend to float at high revs though they seem tight at rest. Probably ok for "dirty work" like shaping logs but I will be keeping them away from fine lumber.

I couldn’t easily find replacement blades at local hardware store. I ordered these and they worked well for a black and decker electric planer. Look to be exactly the same as the original ones and no problem with replacing the old ones with these.
