Electronic-Viscous Fan Clutch, APPLY to the fan blade with a pitch of 2 ½” or over

2006-2010 for Ford Explorer 4.0L/4.6L

2007-2010 for Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4.0L/4.6L

Tips

*The clutch might engage and match engine speed for up to 3 minutes during engine start-up resulting in a fan roar. It's normal and will cease soon upon disengaging. (May more than 3 minutes in cooler or at lower driving speeds)

*The clutch might sound "clicking" after the engine shuts down, it's normal and will cease once the clutch disengages.

*DO NOT replace the electric fan clutch unless a specific issue is identified by proper and professional SI diagnosis.

*In the case of a necessary replacement, a DTC should be set, and/or SI diagnostics should lead to the replacement of the clutch.

*Proper tools were necessary

*Professional Installation was Highly Recommended.

The unit works but makes a ticking sound. It also did not fully resolve the "diesel" like sound that occurs sometimes, although it eliminated a lot of it. It is not OEM type quality but will work for me for now.

I do not like the clutch fan it is making a severe roaring noise still it has raised my RPM Levels by 4,000 reached out and asked questions but no one responded

Bolted up in a matter of minutes nice and quiet unlike the old fan motor that sounded like a jet engine firing up and taking off the price was the deal maker i saved about a hundred bucks!!

I checked the compatibility to make sure it is the correct product. Installed and thought all was good. After it did not, spent over $1000 in mechanic fees and even replacing the PCM on the vehicle to find out that this does not work with my vehicle be is the clutch circuit is open and should have been closed.2007 Ford Explorer v6 4.0L limited.I missed the return date by 1 day and now I wasted lots of money and can’t return it. Just beware.

We installed the new fan clutch on the day it arrived. It was easy to install with the tools. There were noticeable improvements after driving around. Overheating issues experienced before installing this no longer happened.I still believe there could be a problem with the cooling system itself and I plan to do a radiator coolant flush. It's no longer overheating but because we will live in colder region, I expect the engine bay to be cooler. Over time, we will improve the cooling system but I can confirm an improvement in temperature since we have a gauge on the radiator coolant cap.

Ordered and installed fan clutch. Clutch fully engaged and sounded like a 18 wheeler winding up upon acceleration.Then sent for a replacement fan clutch. Replacement fan clutch lasted a few days before becoming fully engaged all the time and clicking randomly. Sending back and just ordered ford motor craft direct replacement.
