Put it in my truck, worked great but the thing started sticking about 6 months later and the fan is back to staying on all the time again. I’m just buy a factory one and don’t bother with this

I have a 13 Tacoma and I live in Az. I noticed my ac would start to blow warm to semi cool when stopped in traffic. I checked ac freon and was a touch low so added to correct pressures. It got a touch cooler but not much. So I took a reading of engine using external thermal gun and saw I was running a bit hot. So I checked my coolant, topped off and gave my fan a whirl. Turns out fan clutch had given up the ghost. So I went to Aut*zone and bought the only clutch they had in stock for $90 bucks. It was better but the ac still would warm up when sitting in traffic. So I considered going OEM as well as coming here to see my options. As others pointed out this fan is a bit noisy at low RPM. Uh duh. That's because it's engaged and pulling in air. So I took off the other fan clutch and bought this one and boom, cold ac. So long story short, this clutch is cheaper, pulls in more air but is also noiser and causes a bit of drag on the engine when taking off from a stop. So basically I have now have a summer fan clutch and a winter fan clutch.

Looks quality. But takes a while to disengage. When cold it should already free spin but it doesn’t. Eventually it does. Definitely loud initially. And it’s made in China. Returning and purchasing the Aisin clutch which is same as OEM Toyota.
