I've used these to pull a lot more than they're rated for and they're holding up just fine. The powder coating is still on them after using them multiple times and even dragging them across the ground. The screw pin still comes out and goes back in just as it did when they were new.Very well worth ordering and giving them a try.

These shackles look nice. They seem well made and were quite easy to install. They feel heavy duty as well.

I wanted to get some nicer finished and heavier duty shackles for my SUV. These have a nice blue powder coat paint finish that look similar to my original set. These have plenty of rubber washers and parts to prevent rattling while driving. My last set didn't have any of those. The one thing I like about my original set over these is that they have a cotter pin in addition to a nut to secure the shackle bolt. These shackles either need Thread-lock or a wire wrapped through the body and the hole to prevent the bolt from possibly vibrating loose. These shackles are definitely thicker and will support more weight than my original shackle set. I was finally able to use the rear shackle on my SUV today to help a guy get his Dodge Challenger out of a ditch that he backed in to. So I can confirm that they with work with tow straps to pull a cars out of a sticky situation. 5 stars.

We like how it fits on the bumper of our truck. It was easy to install, and friends commented on how good it looked. Not only did it looked good, but it was also good to use--it helped get a very heavy branch off the road we wanted to go through. The D-ring shackles held up fine. It was much easier to hook up to these, than to look under the frame of the truck to hook up. Now, we have more fun and confidence on the back roads with our friends in our separate vehicles to help each other out.

I have ordered a few sets of D-shackles from various sellers on Amazon and they have all been fairly similar, which is a good thing. These D-Shackles are ⅞-inch diameter steel shackles, painted blue in the case of the ones I ordered. The D-rings come with plastic snap-in covers for the ends of the loops to help provide a smooth surface for straps/soft shackles and reduce noise from banging around when driving. They also come with 4 plastic washers each. The washers are useful for keeping the D-rings quiet when you have them mounted on your vehicle and driving around. I think they also serve a purpose under load by making sure that the D-ring can’t shift around as much on the recovery point or trailer hitch receiver, which can cause the load to put more force at an off-angle that may damage the ring or pin. These D-shackles are listed as having a working load limit of 10,471lbs, so most users will not run into situations where these could get damaged, unless it’s a very heavy vehicle deep in mud or water. There are many vehicle recovery points that would probably fail before these D-shackles. Speaking of which, I only use these shackles on the vehicle recovery points and I use soft shackles, tow straps or kinetic lines with LOWER breaking strengths than the D-rings to make sure that something soft is going to fail before something metal. The last thing you want in a recovery is to have some several-pound piece of metal flying through the air at many yards per second toward people or other vehicles. I tested these D-shackles out with a 5,700-lb recovery vehicle and a “target” vehicle of nearly the same weight. These shackles worked just fine. The pin screws and unscrews from the ring smoothly and look like they’ll handle any recovery I’ll ever attempt. The paint finish on these shackles is hard and consistent and should hold up to many uses. The metal itself has a slightly rougher finish than I’ve seen on some similar products, but it’s only noticeable at very close range and not when it’s on your truck. I’m more interested in the strength of these D-rings, anyway, and they don’t disappoint.

I am very impressed with these d-ring shackles. I needed to put a set on the back of my wife's custom 1970 IH Scout, 800A, which is tricked out for off-road use. We already had a nice set of shackles on the front of the custom bumper, attached to massive 1" stubs which are welded to special mounts that tie into the frame and an added cross member, to ensure no frame twisting if she ever needs pulled out of a stick situation, possibly at a steep angle. I had neglected to do the same on the rear of the vehicle as it was going through the restoration process but finally, have rectified that problem. Now on the rear bumper, we did a similar installation process, but used 3/4" stubs. These d-ring shackles are very impressively built, for far less cost than I spent on the front two. The have a great finish on them is nicely applied and very durable, as you'd expect from a higher-end, powder-coated surface. Even the isolator is impressive and is so well made, that its' a bit of a chore (if you don't use a tool, like I unfortunately didn't, you nearly break your fingers) to force it into position but that's not a knock, it's a compliment. Anyhow, I couldn't be happier with this set of D-ring shackles and therefore, gladly recommend them to others, especially at this price point.

Pros: * Heavy duty shackles with large pins. * Thick pads included that fit snugly. * Comes with 2 different thicknesses of rubber washers on the pins. * Looks like they should last a good long time.Cons: * Misleading images in the product listing. They show the rubberish washers on the pin having a rounded shape on the edges. The washer that actually came with these shackles are just standard rubber washers with squared edges. This might not matter to most people, but even a little dishonesty bothers me a lot, so I am pointing it out. This product could have received 5 stars from me if not for that. Now it gets 3 stars.
