I own a remote cabin that is off grid and an hour drive to the nearest hardware store so keeping some supplies around for emergencies is a must. I ordered this 1.5" pipe clamp as a back up for my main well pump line. The clamp will work ok, but for you imperial plumbers like me, take note that this is actually a 40 - 42mm clamp, where 1.5" is closer to 38mm, so its a little larger than expected. Fortunately the rubber piece inside has some give so it looks like it work for me should ne need arise. Recommend keeping something like this around in case of emergencies!

not very good quality when tightening it will not tighten evenly the plastic between the nuts has a gap and will not seal if you need one spent the extra money and get one that is made of metal with a rubber sealing surface inside it will be much more reliable even if its just temporary.

Tighten it as tight as it goes and water was still coming out. Got a different one from lowes that looks like a hinge and works great.

Solved the large leak in a water-main line from the road till a permanent solution is made. Shown here with 3/8 & 1” installed. Wasn’t sure which size I needed (3/8 ended up being correct) so i ordered both, installed both, and slid each into position to get the correct fit. Eventually removed the 1” clamp and the 3/8” remained.

I had a 1 inch long piece chipped out of a PVC line that would have been a real pain to cut and repair, so I gave this a try.I wrapped the pipe in self sealing silicon tape just to give it a little help, then attached this device. It takes a bit to screw and tighten all the bolts if it's in an awkward location, and if you're using this, your crack is probably not in a convenient location. Getting a wrench in place under the device in a small dirt hole can be a challenge.I ran the water for a while and it seems to hold. No leaks.Size is a big part of making this work. There's a rubber seal that needs to be tight in order to contain the water; using a model that's too big will cause problems for the seal. Go smaller if there's a doubt. Too big will fail.

This clamp may be ok for some applications but for my project it did not work at all. I had limited space to work with so with 4 bolts on each side to be tightened down evenly it made it very difficult to accomplish the task at hand.
