This repair clamp is stronger than the pipe it is used on. Sadly for my aplication I was unable to get a drip proof seal . If I were to use a silicone packing I am sure it would seal but I only wanted a temperary repair.The repair clamp is 1in od at the ends and opens up to allow a packing to be used in the body .

Not the normal application. The vertical lift cylinder on my Herman-Miller office chair was leaky, the chair seat constantly dropped by itself. Replacing cylinder is not so easy, and there are a variety of configurations to choose from depending on the model, age, etc. To have it replaced by a service company is also expensive.This pipe clamp was easy to install and fixed the problem. The only issue is the height is no longer adjustable, not a problem for me.

I used this to seal a leak in an old and rusted iron irrigation pipe. The pipe had a 3/16 inch tear in a 3/4 inch pipe. It was easy to use. I researched many. This one is designed the best for a tight grip on the pipe. Don't buy the cheaper smaller ones

I got this for an area on my pipes that had a weak joint, where the two pipes came together. I was pleasantly surprised with how sturdy this clamp is. I am now confident in that area of the pipe. I am not sure I would use it for a water leak because water finds a way, but it worked good for what I needed.

I like that the metal and rubber are formed to fit the pipe precisely and cover it completely. No gaps. Not even where the gasketing meets because the gasketing halves are clamped together. Not only that, but the interior surface of the gasketing has ridges for sealing against the pipe.I recently had the displeasure to use some others that had smooth gasketing and that did not cover the full circumference of the pipe. It was horribe standing on a ladder, stretching to reach the repair clamp, and having to tighten - loosen - tighten - loosen - tighten until the gasketing was was alignened with the drippy pinholes.

I'm using top rail fencing to build an antenna mast.While the rails do join together, I wanted something to make sure they are secure when standing vertically.This clamp is very heavy duty and is a perfect fit.The inner portion offers great grip, while the outer metal is extremely sturdy.Locks down tight with great quality nuts and bolts which are included.There's no way the mast could bend at the joints while secured with this clamp.
