The primary item description referred to this as a 36" ladder. What that really means is that it is designed for a pool with a 36" high sidewall. Be sure to check the dimensions in the item photos to understand the true size of the ladder.The ladder itself is made of solid metal tubing with plastic steps. Despite the plastic steps, I experienced no slipping when using the ladder. It was reasonably easy to assemble using the included hardware and mini tools. I liked that they included spring washers to insure a firm connection that won't loosen easily. The only thing I don't like about it is how far the nuts protrude from the frame.

Great little step ladder, whether you own a pool or not. I am now using this around the house because it works so well, much better than most stools. I can't get my big step ladder inside and with this I can easily reach ceiling fans and light fixtures and the rubberized feet do not mark up the hardwood floor and also easily grip into the carpet. Very sturdy.

I wasn't initially impressed when setting up the ladder but once we tested it out, it is surprisingly sturdy. The grips at the bottom have a strong hold so while you do need to be careful; it doesn't feel like there's any risk of the ladder slipping out from under you. 3 stars due to the price and some "creaking" whilst using the stairs; but may update if it does well all summer.
