Robust and solid hooks. Tested them while transporting generators, on trailers, along with miscellaneous other equipment. These are not complicated items, but they do their job just fine. I would recommend them.

This 10-pack of Grade 70 forged chain clevis hooks is designed for use with a 3/8 chain. This is a common size for towing and strapping applications. It's equivalent to ASTM A413 and is made from carbon steel. Unlike some the listing photographs, It should NOT be used for overhead lifting applications (Grade 80, 100 or 120 are acceptable). Additionally, a clevis hook is specifically designed to hook onto the same chain size (3/8") that it's designed for. Generally it's a bad idea to hook onto anything that is not 3/8" chain as the likelihood of failure skyrockets. This is a 5 star item, but 1 star is deducted due to the listing showing improper use for the type and grade of clevis hook being sold.
