Felt a little dry when first using and one heavy spot on rotation . Opened it up , all the screws have blue thread locker, and bone dry , no grease anywhere. Added a light dab of grease and resealed. Now smoother and I tightened directional lever which was a bit loose. All good now . Handle shorter than my other 3/8” ratchets . Light back drag. Based on utube Torque tests I would feel comfortable using this well above 40ftlb rating.

Very tough and very handy. My coworker and I have been using this ratchet in the shop for the last several weeks. We also had the same brand 3/8 drive with the rubber handle to compare it to. It works well and can get into those extra tight spaces. I preferred the rubberized handle on the bigger ratchet, but the straight metal isn't bad for the 1/4 inch ratchet. It makes it slimmer for in those tight spots. We used this to change out batteries on military trucks (with lots of tight spaces) and it worked great. We used this ratchet on over 140 trucks, with 4 batteries in each, and it held up like a champ. It works just as well now as it did brand new, even though it was tossed around and reefed on every day. In fact, my coworker has some expensive Matco ratchets and he has only been using this instead of the more expensive 1/4 inch, since we first got these. The other ratchet got 5 stars and so does this one. A truly great value.

Get it! It's very sturdy, great quality. Can't beat the price, perfect fit, worth the price, and versatile.

This is a well-made and smooth operating 1/4-inch ratchet. I ordered this to have a second 1/4-inch ratchet for those times when you need one on either end of a fastener. The construction quality feels top notch and the ratcheting mechanism is precise. I probably would have preferred a silver finish in a small hand tool, because although the black finish is high quality with a satin look, I'd hate to lose this baby because it's so stealthy looking.

I had a “Popular Mechanics” socket set from the 80’s and the ratchet gave out… I replaced it with a “Stanley” ratchet a couple years ago and it gave out…I m impressed with the “tight” clicks and smooth feel of the ratcheting action… Appears to be a well designed and built tool… as of this date I HIGHLY recommend this purchase… don’t hesitate it’s the right one… If anything changes I will update this review….(longevity of the tool)

Overall, this wrench seems pretty decent. I like the 90-tooth design, but there seems to be a bit of backlash in it, so I think I'll probably need more than 4 degrees of swing room to actually use it, but it's still pretty reasonable.I like that it's longer than my old Craftsman wrench, which I've shown in my photos for comparison. It does seem like the head is a bit taller, though, so it might not work well in really tight spaces. Something to keep in mind. My old wrench has a lower profile and it isn't considered a "low profile" wrench. So I guess I would consider this product to be a "high profile" wrench. The socket retention is good, and the ratchet lever seems to stay in place pretty well. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. If it fails anytime soon, I'll be sure to come back and update this review.

This product is a ½”-drive ratchet wrench. The wrench is 9 ¾ inches long. It includes a quick-release push-button mechanism and is designed around a 90-tooth ratchet mechanism. It quite closely resembles the legacy Snap-On wrench design, and it has a very nice, very smooth black “electrophoretic” finish. This ratchet is manufactured with 90-tooth ratchet mechanism. This means that the ratchet need only be rotated 4° around the center of rotation to engage the next ratchet tooth with the pawl allowing for motion to be accomplished in even the tightest of work conditions. The ratchet has a change lever that is moved in one direction or the other to accomplish a directional change. This tool has a quick-release button to aid in attaching or removing the drive device attachment being used with the wrench. This tool handle is forged of Chromium-Vanadium alloy steel which must be heat treated after forging and machining are complete. The Chromium-Vanadium alloy steel is employed for hardness, tensile strength, toughness, fine-grain structure of the steel, and finally, wear resistance. After the forging process, the steel forgings would be finish-machined, heat treated, and finally, finish ground, polished, and the black electrophoretic finish applied to resist the possibility of corrosion. The tool’s ratchet mechanism is made of Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel with a black phosphate finish. The choice of the “Chrome-Moly” alloy steel allows the tool components to be made of a very strong steel which can forged, machined, and finely finished using modern machinery and techniques, and which will stand up to very high stresses, are durable and resistant to wear, rust, and corrosion. They are forged, machined, heat treated, finish ground, and finally, the finish is applied. In this case the final finish for the ratchet mechanism components is a black phosphate finish for superior long wear and corrosion resistance. The finish on this tool handle is a black electrophoretic finish which provides a very smooth and hard surface which can resist rust, corrosion, and abrasion. The finish on this tool’s ratchet mechanism is a black phosphate (manganese phosphate?) which can resist rust, corrosion, and abrasion and it will absorb and retain oil to further prevent rust and corrosion. The name of the product seller, “PGROUP” has been laser engraved onto the ratchet’s handle shaft. The shape of the ratchet is very close to that of the legacy Snap-On ratchets which is one of the best ratchet shapes ever designed and it fits my hands perfectly. This tool appears to be very well made. The ratchet works smoothly in both directions and with no grittiness felt in its operation. The quick-release button functioned perfectly and allowed the attachment and removal of any accessory tried on the tool. The finish of the ratchet was very well executed, and no flaws were observed. This is a very nice tool, and it works very well. Great job.
