These are great for installing brass threaded inserts into 3d printed products. I use them all the time and although you can do it without these, it is much easier and professional when using the correct tools. I typically use the 3mm one the most and the 4mm the second most, I occasionally use the 2mm one. So it's a great set and when using the proper soldering iron that secures the tip, this is most useful. And a really great price for the quality. Recommended.

Not much to say other than it is made from brass, decent machining, and it works as one expects. The reason for this review is to let others know that the tip and inserts fit a Hakko 930 soldering iron.

Just a note if you're wanting for 1/4-20 which I'm sure most of us want. The 6mm is too small and the 8mm is too large but I tossed the 8mm in a drill chuck and used a file to file it down to maybe 6.75mm or so and it worked perfectly. This took me less than 60 seconds to do so I'm very happy with the set and the ability to easily modify it for my needs.

I just used these with my new heat insert tool on a filament spool rewinder I printed, and they worked flawlessly. The inserts heated and embedded smoothly. For the price, they're a fantastic addition to my 3D printing toolkit.

There’s not much to say about this tool—it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It fits the Hakko FX-888D soldering iron perfectly and works well for inserting heat set inserts into plastic.The biggest selling point is the price. At just under $6, this is the cheapest I’ve seen this type of tool, making it an excellent value. If you own a Hakko soldering iron and a 3D printer, this is a must-have addition to your toolkit.

These heat insert tools work great. If you have a compatible iron the installation is easy. If not you can just put them over the tip. You have to be sure to have a pair of plyers around to grab it so it doesn't fall off. I did end up drilling and tapping a hole into the brass barrel and putting a small set screw into it.

I ordered this to install heat-set inserts into 3D prints.The set looks well made. It would have been nice if it came in a case though.I only have 3mm heat-sets, so I only tested the 3mm tool. The die seems quite a bit looser than I would like it to be. It does not keep it centered so it can touch the plastic once fully set.The adaptor that goes into the soldering iron fits perfectly in both of my irons. It's a very common size. This part of the set is perfect.Because the die is a bit undersized, I took away 1 star. The set does work just fine, I just don't like the fit. I do recommend this set.

The tips fits perfectly on my Yihua 939D+ soldering iron. I'm mostly using these for M3 and M4 heat set inserts, but they work perfectly as advertised. The base slides over the heating element without too much gap and the tips were easily and smoothly screwed on. My only minor gripe is that it appears these tips aren't labeled with their respective diameters (at least on mine).
