Does much better than your average plastic blocks used. Has multiple slots that fit very firm between laminate, vinyl, and hardwood.

When installing a click-lock floor, I frequently find myself wanting to tap the pieces home with mallet or hammer from the edge. Especially around the perimeter of the room or other obstacles. Caution is required that you do not crush the edges of the flooring when doing that. Sometimes I use a sacrificial cutoff piece of the flooring to ensure damage is done the the cutoff instead of the floor piece. This tool is meant for exactly this purpose and has different edges on top and bottom to accommodate either profile of the flooring.

This was worth the money to buy. Very useful & a lot easier to use with the laminate installation kit than the tapping block that came with the kit. It has 2 ridges on it to tap the laminate edge so that it locks in. One ridge wraps around the edge completely & the other edge sits on top (I used this one when ensuring the piece of laminate was locked together). Found it very necessary & useful.
