This kind of heavy duty rubber backing pad with 5/8" threaded brass is SO much better than the flimsy plastic ones you get in many kits, sanding packs, or even included with inexpensive mini sanders or grinders. This pad is so much better balanced when in use, and it's just far superior for doing contours with a foam interface on it, as well. Very highly recommended!

You can tell from the considerable heft as soon as you pick up this 4-inch backing pad that it's a serious tool. The carefully machined brass arbor reinforces that judgment. To a tool guy, the thing's so pretty you'll want to put it on display. I'm ashamed to admit that I've had these 4-inch diamond polishing pads for more than a year, but didn't have a backing pad or mandrel to use them. That'll change now. This pad has a very good array of hook and loop on its face. It holds the polishing pads firmly while attached to my 1940s flexible shaft grinder turning at 3750 rpm. The vendor warns against using this with a high speed grinder. It's good advice.

The size for me is perfect. I use hook and loop 4.5” sanding discs that makes a rounded edge for easy profile dressing.

Better and flexible replacement backing pad for my 4" polishing/sanding discs. The yellow one in the photo is stiff hard plastic. Just make sure you control the speed of your angle grinder or other tool so you have some control over the work area. An inexpensive rheostat can drop the voltage for any power tool and slow it down to an ideal speed based on project and desired RPM.

Solid rubber and brass backer for a standard angle grinder. The hook 'n' loop surface is heavy duty and does not let go easily — in a good way, of course!Perfect milling of the threads and solid construction of the materials.Recommend.

This fit fine on my 5/8" spindle tools - no issues. The velcro holds quite well - haven't had any spun off disksThe firm backer is quite hard and still has enough give to lean into it - it works well with multi-segment diamond hone pads as well as other abrasives - good for working on flat surfaces -This has a little more give than fully rigid backers and tolerates uneven surfaces a bit easier - great for getting to the point you can switch to a full rigid backer to finish.

This HO-ARYZ 4" rubber backing pad has a 5/8"-11 brass arbor that mates up perfectly with all of my angle grinders and arbor adapters for other tools. The rubber backing pad is firm, yet soft enough to allow for some flexibility if you apply enough down force. The hook and loop attachment surface is very grippy. You will not have any issues with sanding or polishing pad attachments coming loose during use.I will have to order some of these backing pads in different sizes.I recommend the HO-ARYZ 4" rubber backing pad with the 5/8"-11 brass arbor.
