I wanted to replace the locks on my Yakima top box but was not able to install the new locks. They look similar to the original ones, but I could not insert them fully into the housing. I was able to re-insert the original ones so there must be a slight difference.

It looks like it fits but it doesn't. Did not fit my q tower Yakima rack even despite looking the same. It kept falling out and would not go all the way and could not turn the barrel. I put back my stock Yakima genuine barrels went in easy no issues.

It did fit my Yakima Rocketbox but one of the locks was damaged. The spring and internal parts were disassembled.I am unable to remove the installed lock with the provided control key

We lost the keys on our Yakima car rack. Took 5 minutes and these worked great. Don’t buy no name stuff they didn’t work.

I lost the key during a move for my factory installed Yakima crossbar system that has the Yakima Control Towers and SKS locks. The locks from Amazon may work, but I could not install them because the provided control key does not fit the factory Yakima locks.So buyer beware that these may work for those that want to add locks to a system that does not have them, but likely incompatible to remove the factory locks.
