At one time the fan pieces were buttons! There are 2 tiny holes in each one; in the exact same place. I have used these a lot, they are strong and do not damage the fabric.

I really like having needle minders for my hand work. These little guys are perfect......large enough but do not get in the way...........I tend to work on more than one project so having a few of these is a great deal! Very lightweight also, so they won't bulge the fabric. Right now I'm embroidering on simple cotton and these are very nice......not heavy enough to stretch or mark the fabric.Happy Sewing!

Magnets are too weak, and they let go when there is fabric between them. These are 100% plastic and not worth $2 for the lot. I am so tired of getting trash items. Big waste of money.
