Super impressed. Very fast charging on my 240V/50A circuit. Works great on our MachE and F150 Lightning. The cord length and diameter / weight are quite impressive compared to other chargers I've seen and used. Highly recommend.

Found out my house is wired with 3 phase so my 2019 nissan leaf charger would not work. I had the plug installed, plugged in, fantastic! Half the price of a hardwired terminal and I can take it if I move. I have had it for 3months with no problems. I have it plugged in full time and I just plug in when I need. Never had heat issues, never had a fault yet.

Took an electrician 2 hours to place the plug in my garage (1/2 the time was drilling the hole to the basement). Once that was done, it was simply plug it in and it worked.Only been using it for 1 day. So no comment on beyond it was easy to install and works as promised.

Works as advertised. Charges my pacifica's 16kWh battery from 0 to 100% in 2 hours. The unit and cable remain cool the entire cycle. Great price for a 8kW charger! It also works in RV electric outlets at campgrounds which is great for us on n road trips in Canada.

Very happy with this purchase; good price and great charging cable. Been using it on my Pacifica for a month and now using it on a Tesla Model 3 (with adapter from Tesla). Works great for both - no heat, nice long cable, heavy duty. Good stuff

Only my second day of use. Charges my 2015 Leaf from 20 pourcents to 100 pourcents in about 3 hours. Don't forget to check what is the maximum amps that your car can take, the charger will adapt it, but do not buy a charger too strong for nothing and save a bit of money...The charger indicates charge rate, amp rate, time, temperature and quantity charged. Very nice feature. Very nice quality! Thanks

Bought this and installed a 240v 50a line to stop the competition between me and my wife over who got access to the 120v outlet - we have 2 Leafs and weekends could get dicey due to long recharge times. Installation is plug-(and-plug)-and-play if you already have a suitable outlet. This EVSE, like all others, is simply a moderately intelligent extension cord. You can get any amperage level version of this device and it will work on your car. The car is in charge of the charge, so if you have an EVSE capable of delivering more current than your car can use, the car will protect itself just fine. I would recommend that you get the highest amperage device you can power so that you don't have to worry about this issue should you buy a newer EV with higher limits. If your car came with a J1772 charger from the manufacturer, then this EVSE will work with your car.Yes, the fit is a bit snug. As the manufacturer suggests, you can lube it to make it easier to use. Avoid WD-40 - this is a solvent that could damage the plastic parts of the EVSE or the car. Look for a silicone based lube, or even KY Jelly (that's what it's for, right?) but use it sparingly so that it doesn't catch and collect dirt and debris. That could mess up your day.I didn't use the included hangar because we already had a classic hose hanger for the old 120v EVSE in place. I also didn't use the wall clip because the straight-in style meant the connector and cable stuck out too far from the wall for my taste. I bought a $20 "holster" for it instead that angles more towards the wall and keeps a lower profile. I kept the tote bag, but don't expect to use it. Opportunities to plug into a NEMA 14-50 are rare around here so I don't haul the thing around with me.The description says there is a way to hang the unit from a hook to take the weight off the plug. I found the hang tab to be a bit light-weight for the task and don't really trust it. Rather than hang it from a hook, my preference was to screw it to the wall, but this was made difficult by the position of the hang tab directly in line with the cable - it was a bit difficult to work around the cable. I would prefer sturdier tabs molded into the case at the corners so that it can be secured directly to the wall. Of course, that defeats the "portable" feature, but that wasn't a consideration for my use. Some quirks to keep in mind:1-The temperature display is (per the manufacturer) the temp of the EVSE control box. No idea why this is included, as it's battery temperature that is of interest. Since it's displayed only in Celsius, it's doubly meaningless in the USA market. The charger has been inactive all night with a garage temp of about 40F but the EVSE says it's at 18C (64F). Seems unlikely to me.2-The power consumed display is cumulative. It does not reset between charges unless you unplug the EVSE from the wall outlet or install it with a switch on the circuit so you can turn it on and off. This may be exactly what you want, but with two cars using this it means I have to reset the unit each time in order to know exactly how much power went into a given car. I use this for mileage calculations. YMMV.3- My Leaf can charge at up to 6.6kW, but the EVSE typically shows it working at 6.3kW when the battery is low and it should be charging at full capacity. Again, the car is in charge here so this isn't necessarily anything to do with the EVSE but I felt it was worth noting. It may mean something to someone else, or the battery may have been too cold to take the full 6.6kW. The garage temperature is right around 40F this time of year so the battery isn't any warmer than that, especially after sitting all day in the parking lot at work with temps in the 30's.4-It took 3 cycles before my wife's car would take a full 100% charge from it - it shut off at 94% and then 98% before the 3rd cycle when it finally took her to 100%. She's been almost exclusively on 120v charging until now. I don't know if that might mean something, but it's probably more about the car than the EVSE again.Basically, this unit will get the job done. If you want a basic EVSE and don't care about the bells and whistles found on others, then this is a good sub-$400 option. With a warranty, there's no reason not to buy this device.UPDATE 11JAN20: Replaced one Leaf with a Chevy Bolt last August. This unit works just fine with the new car. The plug is still a bit tight on the Leaf, but perfectly normal on the Bolt. Still working without a hitch nearly a year after purchase.

I chose the Mustart 40 amp charger because it represents the best value for the dollar. It can be mounted to wall, or left as it comes and remains portable. One might think that all public charging locations will have a connection, but consider how many RV specific charging locations have just a NEMA 14-50 plug in. That's when being able to carry your own with you comes in real handy! The display is small, but feature filled. It tells you all you need to know about how much current the unit is passing, and also has the most useful display of all - temperature! Any time you're running 240 volts and 40 amps of current, expect some heating and this unit lets you know when it's getting too hot. Having said that, the only heat issue I've had was when I had it charging my car in direct, afternoon sunlight which caused the unit to heat up until I placed it in a shaded location where upon the temperature went down immediately.I have been using this for about 2 weeks now to charge my Hyundai Kona electric and it's done a stellar job. generally it indicates about 7.4 kWh being drawn which equates to almost 30 miles of range per hour of charge. Even with the Kona's 291 mile range at 100% charge, my charging time is generally around 4 hours since I prefer to top-off every 2 to 3 days rather than run the battery all the way down. The cable is thick, and appear quite rugged. Though the state the unit is for indoor use, I have been using mine outdoors from an outlet installed on my front porch. Perhaps a driving rain might cause problems, but just being outside does not.I chose this unit because it's a solid $200 less expensive than other models and "brand names" while offering as much, and in many case more of what a charger is all about - charge rate.I highly recommend it!
