Much cheaper than a local hardware or AC supply store. I keep common sizes on my shelf for when they die. I've used this brand and size before but not this specific one yet. They work just as well as all the others - which is to say, they work wonderfully when an old one dies and you need the AC on.

A technician friend of mine said that practically all HVAC capacitors are currently made in China and they don’t last as long as they used to. My expectation is that this one, like my last one, will need to be replaced in two to three years as well. I checked it with a capacitance meter and it measured 40.0uf and 5.01uf out of the box so I am satisfied for now.

Thank goodness for YouTube! I’m still blown away that $15 and 10 minutes worth of work saved me hundreds of dollars on an HVAC job. Even if this unit is cheap and I have to end up replacing it every year, I’d say it’s still worth it

AC Stopped blowing cold all of a sudden. Did some research, reached out to some HVAC friends and was able to fixe it in 15 minutes. AC runs like new.

Tested prior to install and it was up to specs. Installed in the unit and the AC took off like a race horse. Now we will wait and see how durable it is.
