I have a recliner that I purchased from a very high end furniture store back in 1994 and this recliner has lasted through two boys and two dogs -all who liked to get up and sit with Dad.Well finally in 2024 the handle spring broke. So I ordered this and repaired this chair myself.Now we’re good for another 30 years I suppose.

My mother has an old recliner with a broken spring, and I ordered this based on my memory of what the broken spring looked like. I figured it would be worth a shot to request this for review and give it a try.I'm not sure that it's going to suit my purpose, but I can say that if you have measured for the spring that you need, this one is well made, with reinforced hook-ends that are situated at a 90-degree angle to one another.UPDATE 12/29/2023: Hey! I took this down to my mom's house last week - it took about 5 minutes to figure out where the spring was supposed to go, then about 10 seconds to install it, and her recliner "works better than when it was new!" She called it her early Christmas present.

This was a perfect replacement for my broken spring. This spring also has a soft covering on each end to reduce wear, which also makes chair reclining operation much quieter.
