It's very lightweight and also pretty rigid. That's good. The only dig I can really make though is the main function of the unit. The twist lock system doesn't feel as "engineered" as other twist lock systems I've used. You need to really make sure and twist each joint individually, not just the whole thing. Also, when retracting it, one section sticks quite a bit even though it's as loose as I can make it.Still, it stores small and is very lightweight.

I ordered the Neosou carbon fibre monopod with the hope of using it to shoot GoPro videos from a kayak. It is very light weight at 141 grams (5 oz) and has a fully extended length of 120cm (47”). It comes with a GoPro attachment with an integrated ¼” screw.The aesthetics of the black carbon fibre finish fit in well with the rest of my camera equipment. I also appreciated the safety warning against not using it during a thunderstorm.The sections lock with a twist action, but I found that the thinner ones can collapse under the weight of a GoPro 12 enclosed in a waterproof housing. A more appropriate use for the pole would be as a cell phone selfie stick.The Neosou monopod could potentially be a very nice addition to an outdoor adventure backpack with a better locking mechanism. As-is, it should be fine for travel selfies with a cell phone.

Although I don't use a GoPro, I do shoot with my phone camera, small frame Nikon Coolpix, and Canon DSLR. I'm looking for a stick that will support these cameras, is light enough to carry, and strong when using.PROS:+ very lightweight carbon fiber stick+ nice extension (up to almost 4 feet)+ sharp-looking striped black carbon finish+ simple twist of each extension to lock (but doesn't always hold when using)+ decent height for shots while sitting or as an above-the-crowd selfie stickCONS:- extensions do not always hold their lock- can easily push down with either a light knock or downward pressure, either of which can occur when using to shoot in the field or in crowds- although designed for GoPro with 1/4" screw, a smartphone holder would have been a nice item to include (I had to buy one elsewhere to use this monopod/selfie stick)CONCLUSION: I really wanted to enjoy this good-looking, lightweight monopod/selfie stick - but not holding in its locked position is a non-starter for me. I won't subject my cameras or phone to potential jarring or dropping. Damaging my cameras and/or missing the shot make this unusable in all but controlled situations.

This NEOSOU carbon fibre monopod weighs 138g and can extend from 30 cm to 120 cm. It has a Gopo swivel connector at one end and a lanyard and a 1/4" tripod mount at the bottom of the handle. The handle is wrapped in a comfortable PU leather. Twist anti-clockwise to unlock and clockwise to lock.I ordered this monopod for my Yi 4K+ action camera. I will be using this setup for my next European cruise vacation to shoot ultra wide angle above head scenery shots during walking tours by extending the action camera to the maximum extension of this monopod. I like the stiffness of this carbon fibre monopod, it stays perfectly straight without any bend at its full extension. Extended at 5' above my head, I cannot see the live view display from the camera, but by switching the action camera to ultra wide angle recording, I have no problem capturing the scenery shot I wanted.Ultra light weight, easily fits into my backpack,120 cm at full extension, stiff and rigid stem when fully extended, I highly recommend this NEOSOU monopod for travel video and photography.
