Do not waste your time or money on this piece of trash. It does not work. There's no information anywhere on the internet to make it work. And did not even come sealed. The only thing that shows is a Chinese splash screen saying it's not working. Trash product with botted reviews which should be removed from amazon.

It has worked as expected with my HP laptop. I've used it about 9 months. PnP. I'm not sure if I ever verified 30 vs 60 fps, it didn't matter because I was going into zoom. I appreciate the attached USB A, C adapter. I would buy it again.

This is a review of an Amazon Vine product. That said, I try to be honest and open in all my reviews.I usually include pictures or video, but it took me a while to get the Acasis USB device working, and I wanted to get this review done. I will try to add video later, once it is published. The Acasis company has been around for a long time providing hardware to help capture HDMI output. Many of their products were cards that you would insert (PCI) into your PC. For those of us who have been around for a while, this was a very common way of adding capabilities to your PC. By all accounts, the recent cards work great.By using the USB object the Acasis product becomes more portable and is operating system agnostic. You can get it to work, and it works well for non-copy protected HDMI output. I will walk you through the steps to get the product up and operational. There are no special drivers to make it work. How do I know?I plugged it into my computer and then plugged in an HDMI source and nothing happened. I tried four separate video recording software packages (Non-Linear Editors, NLEs) that I had on my system, and none would recognize the device. By the by, these are high end, commercial NLEs that are very robust to a variety of inputs. So, I tried the usual steps. Unplug the device, restart the system, open up the Device Manager, plug in the device, try to have the system automatically recognize and set-up the new device.Yeah. None of that worked. So, I started digging around the Acasis site, most of which is in Mandarin, but there were a few pages that were either in English or that I could translate using Google translate.I found out there are no special drivers for it.What I also discovered is that the examples using the previous products (the PCI cards) often involved using OBS Studio, a Chinese, basic featured video editor. I downloaded, malware scanned, and then installed OBS Studio.Voila! Now the Acasis USB device worked and was able to transmit non-copy protected video signal to OBS studio for recording. What is this device useful for? Well, if you are looking at recording game play on any device that outputs HDMI then the Acasis is perfect. By the by, gaming consoles like the Xbox and PS family natively have HDMI output, and iPads and Android tablets have adapters (relatively inexpensive) that allow you to capture their output in HDMI form. The video is good quality too. For 1080p I was getting a recording of 60Hz, and for 4K I got 30 Hz. Decent quality. One caveat, I hooked this up to my Blu-Ray player, and a commercial disk (copy protected) does not work with this capture device. All in all, if you are recording material for a Twitch channel, instruction, or just for fun, this is a relatively easy to install and use device with good video quality.

Windows 10 recognized this as a Camera device immediately upon plugging in. Connected to the HDMI output of my old VHS machine and was able to capture/record content from some old VHS tapes to mp4 video files using Windows 10 Camera app.

Lets start with the good: Yuy2 support 60 fps 1080p , better image quality than mjpeg and much lower cpu utilizationThe bad: I was going to use this for streaming games to twitch but I noticed the audio and the video were out of sync in OBS, but also sometimes the video and audio are in sync, the audio being out of sync or in sync makes it an unreliable product for streaming. I don't want to have to trouble shoot before every stream or recording. The audio is also very delayed sometimes making it unusable for games that rely on sound cuesSo It is good if you want to turn an old laptop into a second monitor for productivity, but it can be unreliable for the audio and for things like livestreaming. If the audio and video were in sync all the time, this product would get an easy 5 stars. This is only my experience, others may have had better luck. Please tell me if I am doing anything wrong with my settings.
