Had to place a kink in the cable so it could grab the tube. Tried using electrical tap but it wouldn’t hold; possibly user error.

The top tube rear brake cable on my 30 year old mountain bike came with one of these that had started to disintegrate with age. After I removed it, my cable would ding like a bell on the top tube while going over rough trails. I cut the tubing to size and installed and no more bell ringing. I put a little cable lube inside to limit friction and protect the cable from corrosion.

This worked great to replace a shift cable inside of my mountain bike's frame. Cable was bare inside the frame (no housing) so I slipped this over the existing cable, pulled out the cable, fed the new cable through it, then pulled out this clear tube.

The original tube liner got clogged when I tried to replace the front derailleur cable, and getting specs on that liner is not easy. I tried this product, even though the original liner spec'd at 2mm and this one at 2.6mm. Luckily this fit through the bottom bracket perfectly. This worked on a 2018 Fuji Gran Fondo. That, and I have lots to spare for later.
