I got this aluminum tubing to cut to make spacers to mount a sign, but there are so many uses for this stuff. The tubing is good quality and thick-walled. A great component to have on my parts shelf. I would buy this as well as some other diameters again.

Not cheap, but they are the right sizes. I'll be using them for some projects I have with my 3D printer and needed 8mm rods. These are aluminum so they are light weight over the solid steel ones. So, if you have a project that needs to be lighter weight but doesn't require extreme loads/weight on them, then you'll probably be fine to use these ones also!

These are true to size, outside diameter measures at about 8.06-8.1mm and inside diameter at 5mm fits M5 screws/rods. Lenth is 300mm and the tubes are straight as far as my eye (and use) can tell, I'm cutting these down into 80mm segments and have not had any straightness issues threading things through them. Would recommend

These aluminum tubes are pretty lightweight, about 25 grams each. The surface is well polished, and the alloy is stated to be 6063 T5 which is low strength, but very good corrosion resistance and smooth surface. The low strength is actually a good thing if there is a need to bend and shape these. For the corrosion resistance, other aluminum alloy compositions develop a protective, adherent grey oxide layer over time, but this is supposed to stay shiny.

6063 aluminum is a fairly soft alloy, great for bending, welding, and machining. It is not nearly as hard as 6061 but it's easier to form into different shapes. It is not ideal for situations where high strength is needed. These tubes come wrapped up nicely and the finish is reasonably good. The sizing is fairly accurate too. I measured a few of the tubes in different spots and found no more than +/- 0.02mm of variation from the stated 9mm OD, 6mm ID. I tried making a few cuts on my lathe and found them to be very easy to work with. I ran a test thread (5/16-24 UNF) with a few rather aggressive passes and 2 spring passes. The surface finish looked pretty good and the material cut nicely. Overall these seem to be nice 6063 tubes with fair pricing for a small quantity.
