These set of 4 LM386 Amplifier Boards are a great Value. Here are some things to consider before ordering accessories for this board:The 3.5mm input jack is stereo type with the middle conductor connected to the amplifier input.A 3.5mm mono cable will not work. You should order a 3.5mm Stereo cable instead.According to the LM386 Amplifier Data Sheet, this board is setup with a gain of 20. If you want a higher gain (200) you can solder a 10uF electrolytic capacitor between pins 1 (+) and 8 of the LM386 IC.There is a Red LED on board to indicate when Power is applied.

Very nice set nice I am older and don’t always have my hearing aids in my ears this allows me to increase the volume of almost any device that has a speaker attached. It isn’t big but produces quite a bit of amplification and small enough to incorporate inside many devices and speaker cabinets. I use mine for my Ham Radio setup at her than using headphones allowing me to hear other things around me like the wife calling to me or r cell phone.

Easy connections, liked size, mounting provisions, twelve volt operating voltage, and output suited my application.

This will hiss and/or pick up a random radio station installed on a metal case. The potentiometer is an unintentional radio antenna. Must use faraday material between the mounting holes and through it or it will hiss like hell. It’s really silent when nothing is being amplified if it hangs in the open and hiss free when playing music. It’s loud and cheap! Would highly recommend this little amp if you can shield the RF somehow.

Good value for the price, but despite the sellers claim, this is not a 10 watt amp, it is less than 1 watt (the spec of the LM386 part used) which is still plenty loud. The gain is set quite high for normal audio signals, which means that if you barely crack the volume control the amp is already at normal listening level. Like another reviewer recommends, I agree that you should modify the board for lower gain (easy, just remove 1 part). That might help reduce the background hiss too.The input jack is MONO, so you plug in a stereo cable (3 conductors) you will hear only one channel. The knob supplied is a press-on type (no set screw) and it is loose-fitting so falls off easily. The volume control has a split shaft so prying that apart a little might help.
