Got a 5" random orbital? You know you've got a lot of 5" hook and loop pads. Stop trying to gold tjem.on a chunk of 2x4 and just buy this amazing little tool.

Use this for woodworking. Sandpaper sticks to it well. Good product.

The product performs as advertised. It's a little too WIDE for my tastes (I make boxes), but the width pays off when sanding flat panels. Very comfortable to use, and the sandpaper adheres well to the velcro.

In fact, buy more than one. If you use a lot of 5" sanding disks, you'll have them in various grit. I started with one and now have a bunch, I just sharpies the grit for each one onto the back of the sanding block. Super easy to grab a different grit without changing pads, and they are cheap enough that this doesn't amount to much extra cost. Very worth it.

There are 2 different styles of these palm sanding blocks - this one where it tapers off quickly to almost a point, and a slightly more rounded version that isn't pointed. Think triangle vs half circle shape. The first one I bought a while ago was the half circle shape and I liked the ergonomics a bit better for my hands. These in the triangle shape are just a tad less comfy for me, but they both function the same and hold 5" sand papers (the velcro style, none included). I held off til these went on sale and they were a decent value. I keep 4 of these with different grits of sand paper mainly to knock down edges or reach an edge where my random orbit sander might gouge a surface.
