The 5 Pcs Step Drill Bits set is great to have on hand for any DIY project. While you don't always need step bits, this is a nice kit to have on hand, coming in a nice case. The high-speed steel construction combined with the titanium coating ensures excellent durability and resistance to wear, even under heavy use. They are great for working with multiple materials, like wood, metal, or plastic. It's an excellent value for its quality and versatility.

I don't often need a step drill bit but when I do, it's the only thing that will get the job done, so it's good to have a wide variety of five sizes. The bits are sharp and cut into my test piece quickly and easily. I work mostly with wood so I don't anticipate these have any dulling issues. Can't speak to their suitability for working with metal. What's not so great is the case. Including the (relatively) expensive-to-manufacture case seems a bit of overkill. And I would guess that few people will use it. I've stashed it on a shelf for a few days/weeks to see if I might repurpose it somehow/somewhere. If I could speak to the mfr, I'd suggest a lightweight plastic keeper... more like a stand (so they're quickly/easily accessible), instead of a box that takes two hands to open, then dig the bit out of its tight foam recess. All in all, still a good find, just could (probably) be cheaper (though they're pretty inexpensive already).

These step bits are a great value for the money. Super sharp and just as good as many other brands. Will be using them on heavier metals, soon, and will update if there’s any issues. At first impression, they’re a highly recommended set.

It's great that these bits come with a storage case. The bits are well made, and I like the various sizes available, but the case arrived damaged (it was shipped in a bubble wrap envelope, so it is dented, but still functional). The set is a good value for the price.

DelitonGuide's step drill bit set is a handy addition to your tool closet. The set comes in a nice aluminum case, small enough to toss in a toolbox and perfect for keeping all five bits in the same place.I used the bits to do some repair work on some vintage hard wood furniture, and with a small pilot hole the bits made even, clean holes, to the point where I didn't even need to use a countersink bit to clean up the edges. Most of the bits step in 1/16" increments, but the thin one works in 1/32" increments (up to 1/2") and the wide one in 1/8" increments (up to 1 3/8"), so you have a great deal of options to get a hole exactly the size you need.

I like this set and have been using them for a month now and they hold up very good. Way better than the HF ones you can get in the store.I like that you get options for different sizes and holes and a nice sturdy case to keep them in when finished.5 stars!!!

I'm annoyed by the virtually invisible diameter markings on each bit (zoom in on my pic... they're there) - and the fact that they're only in one channel instead of on both sides. The listing pictures showing bright white marking are fake. The case is mucho overkill for a beginners set of step bits and represents probably 30% or more of the cost.I haven't had call to truly use these yet, but I did drill a hole in a steel shelf and the bit was noticably duller afterward. The metal these are made of is softer than it should be.For the price these bits are ok, but that's about it - they probably should have put the case manufacturing cost into the bits instead. 3*

$22 for a 5-piece step drill bit kit w/ case is a great value, especially with the quality you are getting. Why do you need a 5-piece kit? Why not just get the bigger one and call it a day? Because the 5-piece kit gives you more sizes than you can possibly get in a single step drill bit, and more flexibility to allow you to adapt to more situations.Example the shorter 6-step bit - that shorter length might come in handy when you need to drill a hole without hitting something behind itThe skinny one gives you 1/32" increments for those odd holes where it needs to be just a hair larger/smaller than the common sizes...though I wish they had equivalent small increments on the larger diameter bits too.The big one is plenty big for majority of situations...and the fact it's stepped means you can get there a lot easier without having to change bits 10x.The included case is pretty decent too. Should keep them from rusting as quickly as they would if they were loose. It's not the most efficient use of space, but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
