This bag looks nothing like the picture! I’m returning it. It looks hardsided in the picture, but it’s not!

We live in an area prone to fires and have to evacuate more than I would like. This now has just some important documents. We grab this whenever we leave town, however in case we do not remember to get it I feel it will keep everything inside safe.

This fire proof bag holds alot of items. The holds items with dimension also (co pared to fire proof envelopes which are flat. This is a good option for a fire safe box since it can be locked using a number code lock too.

When I got this I wasn’t sure of the ability of a bag to remain fireproof. When I opened this I “got it”. First it is made from a weird very heavy duty gel infused canvas like a fireman’s coat. Everything is protected inside with double heavy duty zippers. It’s not huge inside but more ttt he an enough to secure valuables. They really changed my mind. This bag is very cool and good protection against a fire 🔥. Incidentally my area in California was subjected to a month of wildfires and this is a welcome addition to our plans.

This is bigger than I expected it to be and has a ton of compartments to store papers, cards, documents, etc. The leather is thick. It it supposed to be fireproof and there is a lip you place over the zipper likely to help with that. My husband wanted to torch it to test it out but I told him no. The built in lock is a nice touch and they give you directions to change the code. It is a bit difficult to align properly to lock it, but I do not consider that enough of a negative because the intention is to store items and not go in and out of it frequently. It is also lightweight (depending on what you put in it of course), so you could also grab and carry it with you without too much difficulty in the case of an emergency.

Once I figured out how to get in to the zipper to open this I really liked it. There is a protective cover that is over the zipper and you have to pull it back to access the zipper. I am sure this helps keep the zipper from melting in the event of a fire. It opens up and expands quite well. The outside has an odd sticky sort of feel to it but it's the material it's made of that is fireproof. The inside is quite spacious, holds all of my documents as well as tablets, cords, etc. This is quite large and has a lot of compartments. I am very pleased with this and it gives me peace of mind that all of my important documents and drives are well protected.

Fireproof and Waterproof Document Bag with Lock appears to be well made bag and coated in silicone, fiberglass heat-resistant material. The material is very sticky to touch and feels like the material was not coated and dried correctly. The seller has claimed this bag has been certified by SGS or UL (Underwriters Laboratory) to provide true fire protection. The bag has no proof or documented tags it has passed and been certified by SGS and UL. I’m not inclined to test heat- resistant capabilities of this bag. The entire bag, zippers and seams are all coated with sticky silicone heat-resistant coating and seller claims bag is waterproof and dustproof. This lack of proof makes me concerned about the viability of using it as true fireproof bag. Instead, this bag is equipped to provide organization of documents and other valuables. This bag has plenty of space for storage of papers, credit cards, and passports. The main section of bag has plenty of space and can store a 16 inch laptop. Within the upper section, there is a three layer compartment contains mesh and zippered storage pockets which is connected to bag and can be removed by releasing Velcro strap. The fireproof bag is expandable and has double zippers to open bag to its full size. The bag size is approx. 14.6"L x 11"W x 6.7"H. As part of the security system, there is a plastic lock which can melt if bag is involved in a fire. Plus, I could not get the lock to work even though instructions were included with bag. Overall, I would recommend the bag due to its sturdiness, quality, and storage capabilities but be weary of its fireproof claims due to its lack of proof.

For years, I have had one of those fireproof home safes that everyone seems to have. It's not a safe so much as a place to keep important documents so that they won't get burned if your house catches fire. We've all seen the storage wars kind of shows where someone buys a locker, finds one of those inside, throws it on the ground, and it pops right open. So, basically, no security there. The problem with those types of fireproof boxes is that they fill up pretty quickly and once you reach a sort of "maximum occupancy," it's hard to squeeze anything else into them. Between important contracts, marriage licenses, kids' vaccination records and birth certificates, etc, it doesn't take long. This document bag also does not provide any security, so in that regard it's no better or worse than the hard-sided box. Where it excels, though, is in its capacity to take on larger items, and more of them. I've stuffed mine pretty full, and I'm sure I could stuff more in there. It also just overall looks better. Those grey-sided boxes with the keys dangling out of them convey some attitude of strength that they don't actually possess. This looks like a nice, shiny, leather bag that has zippers around the sides and would fit in nicely with a bunch of old purses in the back of a closet. When the house burns down, all of those important documents will still be safely ensconced inside. I'm glad I got this!
