The build quality is excellent — solid stainless steel construction with a comfortable wooden handle that feels premium and well-balanced in hand.Using a bottomless portafilter gives instant feedback on channeling issues, and this one fits my Breville machine perfectly without any modification. It seems very well-built. Very heavy and sturdy with a nice wooden handle. The bottomless aspect helps to see if your espresso is channeling or not, so it definitely performs its task admirably. The baskets can be changed out similar to the portafilter that comes with the Breville machines.My one and only complaint is that the wooden handle was slightly loose (I didn’t even realize it wasn’t permanently attached) so it tipped over and all of my coffee grounds fell out. Not a huge deal, but this should be permanently fixed together to avoid this.

I wanted to replace my gaggia classic pro spouted portafilter and this one has a wonderful wood handle and nice finish, it allows me to see my shot so i can identify issues quickly, plus it makes for a great aesthetic upgrade for my machine. The wooden handle can be unscrewed though I don't yet find a use for that it's good to know i can possibly replace it for another handle i imagine.Definitely recommend this

I was excited when I received this new portafilter for my Breville Barista Pro. The hardwood and chrome look great together and I was looking forward to dialing in my pours with a bottomless filter. I tried everything, grind size, consistent ratio, dark vs lighter roasted beans, different tamping pressure, I even read blogs and watched videos. You name it, I tried it. I could never get the same consistency in a pull that I can get with the portafilter that came with the machine. It is pretty consistent at dispensing espresso at the 7-9 second mark but it usually stops short , at around 20-22 seconds no matter the grind settings and tamping pressure. I have also noticed that when I dislodge the puck, It almost never comes out cleanly, leaving caked on grinds on the filter screen. In comparison, with same settings, the Breville portafilter pops out super easy and clean every time. I have spent hours and expensive beans trying to get the perfect pull with this product but whenever I go back to the original Breville portafilter I get better, more consistent results every time. Maybe I just don’t have the patience to keep trying but why would I want to endure the frustration if I have something that already works way better?

BLUF: didn't work as advertised. returned and went back to using the stock portafilterPro: excellent weight, beautiful design, easy to take basket in and outCon: seems to seat well but espresso splatters everywhere and makes a mess; does not coalesce into one stream as advertised; consistently comes down the handle or splatters out the backside on the machine. This occurs each time, despite changing the grind and grams used.

Edit: Customer service A+Initially gave this a 1 star because the wood handle arrived cracked in two places. It was very apparent and somehow slipped through quality control. After leaving a one star review, they quickly reached out to me and offered a full refund or a replacement. I opted for a replacement as I really like the look of it and minus the cracked wood the build quality and finish is excellent.Shipping was extremely fast on the replacement portafilter. They even included another one of their products free of charge—which was very generous of them. The replacement is flawless.It seems as though customer service and product support is nonexistent these days with a lot of products on Amazon. Not the case with this company. It’s nice to know they stand by their products. I’ve already ordered another tamp as a Christmas gift.

The portafilter feels sturdy and durable. Feels nice in the hand. The basket is also great. Nice design, looks awesome on the machine.
