I retrofitted my old mechanical control with this new digital control. It was not clear that I also had to change the flow metering from mechanical to digital. I was not happy about the added expense. The instructions also need to be improved for programming. There are several ways noted to program the control but none of them work exactly like the instructions. Only one surprise so far that it began to run while my wife was in the shower which did not make her happy. The other regenerations all ran at night as expected. Not sure what happened on this regeneration.

Ordered to replace a Pentair 5800sxt as the plunger was stuck and it was constantly draining a good trickle without shutting off. Parts to rebuild would have cost as much as a full replacement. I was very pleasantly surprised how easy and replace and program. It's also much quieter than the Pentair. Perfect!
