2nd time purchase. This time I used this was to treat the outside base if my pole building. Easy to mix, no smells and soap and water clean up. Great!

Of course, we won't know if it works for 20 or 30 years; but, the reviews are good. They don't encourage using any of the NaCl cleaners before using the preservative. I had some logs already cleaned; so, I let it dry before using the Treatment. I then used it on logs that had not been cleaned with NaCl; they came out the same. So there! I was treating white pine; it developed a fairly uniform brownish gray. Really nice. Will not stain them.

Applied to untreated hemlock porch walls, railings and supports with a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Within a few weeks it changed the wood from almost white to the most beautiful rustic gray-brown patina. It looks like it’s been there for years, which is exactly what I wanted. I am completely in love with this product!

I don't often write reviews unless I find a product that is extremely good or exceedingly bad. In this case, the product I used was exceptionally good. I built thirteen 4ftx16ft raised garden beds using Douglas Fir 2"x10" sides and a 2"x4" top rail. The raw wood was pinkish in color and I was a bit skeptical I'd achieve a natural looking color. There were also some sun-faded wood in the mix. I applied the material using a sprayer and it went on very easy. The only negative was the tiny particles in the dye mix would clog up the sprayer nozzle. I ended up having to stop and strain the entire 5 gallons of mixture using a paint strainer "sock" to remove all the fine material used in the dye. Once removed, it went on as if you were spraying weeds with a liquid weed killer. I started dying the bottom and inside first. I applied two coats. After that I flipped each garden bed and applied two coats to the outside and top rail. After waiting a bit of time, all of the wood gradually changed to a brown/greyish/olive color. To my amazement, the color came out absolutely beautiful. It essentially turned the wood into a uniform, natural color that was very appealing to the eye and natural surroundings. It reminded me of wood that might be used in the old mines. The wood was new but the finish made it looked like it was distressed and aged, which is what I wanted. I ended up buying four of the 5 gallon mixes to really coat and penetrate the wood. I'd definitely buy this product again, especially knowing it is non-toxic and doesn't affect the fruits and vegetables that we will be planting next .

I’ve been using this now for 5 years with pine wood on raised garden boxes. It’s great, with the garden boxes I’ve used it on that are coming up on there fifth year the wood shows no rot or decay. I even cut one of the pieces to get a look at the inside, to my superior still had great color and was sturdy.I wish it came in in the individual 1 gallon mix packets instead of all being mixed together.

This stuff is amazing, we basically used a rag to wipe down. It starts off greenish grey but in a couple weeks you get this beautiful rich brown. This cabin was nordic pine and started off quite yellowish white. Bugs don’t like it either, I think it neutralizes the sugars in the wood. We love it and non toxic so we used it inside as well. 1st pic after 1 year, 2nd pic before we put it on

Due to EPA regulations, we must use non-toxic preservative on new bridge wood over water. After 9 years of wood we did not treat, we had to replace. We spoke to the manufacturer's customer service, who are very helpful and knowledgeable. They've been making this product for 3 generations, and are still testing for other advantages. This was our PERFECT solution. We were not concerned about color, but it did turn gray and that was good since we could see almost immediately that it was working and covering well. We laid the timber out on tarps to keep every drop (we used two 5 gallon packages). We used rollers, sponges and rags to apply to all 6 sides (ends too) of the rough wood. All went very well, and we see an obvious difference in the behavior of the wood in rain already.

I will change it to five stars once I know if it actually helps keep our wood from rotting! It was expensive for the tiny zip lock of dust that you get for $70 dollars, so I really hope that it treats our wood for our chicken coop. Stay tuned for a yearly review! It was easy to make: I used a gallon water jug and made a gallon at a time. It was too messy in the sprayer and didn't cover well without a lot of waste so I put a cup in a yogurt container and used a cut sponge to sponge it on. Use rubber gloves because my hands turned a lovely light reddish brown with the cuts in my fingers from gardening turning black. Pretty! I have to say that it didn't hurt my skin (but use glasses or goggles bc it is acidic and you don't want it in your eyes.). I am hopeful that it helps preserve the wood as all the articles and reviews said!Another hint: apply it before you put up your fence or wall or whatever because it is easier to move the wood around when it is not attached to anything. Good luck!
