Like pencils and tape measures, there is never one where you need one. These are cheap enough to leave everywhere, or keep in the pocket. There is no worry about bending one. They're too cheap to worry about damaging onw=e.

Use them in my knitting bag; sewing kit. Have extras just to be sure I always have one available. Made of metal, so won't break easily, small enough to pack in whatever, marked well. They are perfect!

These are quality made but very very difficult to use when choosing the smaller 1/64 measurements. The best rules are identical in size but offer 1/32 & 1/8 markings which allow much more useful practicality

Makes marks on metal that you can see. Does not work well on oily parts but you should clean them first.

I've used a six-inch steel ruler given to me decades ago. It has provided essential utility for decades, but the markings are wearing off now, so this is my replacement. My first impression is that it is sturdy and well-marked. I hope it gives me the same lengthy service.

Great for quick measurements when sewing, woodworking, and crafting.One issue is the clip/slide/T portion. The rulers I received had very loose slides and needed to be tightened up by crimping with pliers. However, I overtightened one and then the metal tabs broke off as I attempted to bend them back a bit.
