I have a Dual Shock 3 with six axis that the battery died. I picked this due to decent reviews around the net.The battery is the same size and shape as the one that came out. I have the controller with the white frame attached to the board and it fits in it perfectly. It had a charge on it and my controller powered on immediately.

I tried charging it multiple times. I made sure it said fully charged in the PS3 menu and I unplugged it. It just turns off. It did make the controllers number LEDs flash for 5 seconds and that's it.

None of the review boards checked out on any of these PS3 controller batteries. They all have a substantial number of 1 star reviews. After reading a lot I was forced to choose the most promising amongst a field of doubtfuls....and went with these.I put these in with little problem and the controllers lit right up, took a charge, and are working fine....very happy!!The original SONY branded battery is not an option...hasn't been available for a decade, so forget that. An aftermarket battery is the only option. Many of these batteries advertise some giant number like 1800 mAh, which is a total fabrication, so any that said that I ruled out. This size battery is going to be around 600 mAh, not much more.My SONY batteries had the little legs molded on to them and my controllers did not have a battery cradle inside. As many reviewers state, these after markets don't have the little legs but I didn't see an issue. They fit into the controller just fine, there are no delicate parts they sit on, and they don't seem to rattle around. Mine just worked. The freebie tools are handy and the plastic spudger will help you not nick your case, a plus actually. My batteries came with some factory charge and I was so glad to see the dead controller light up!Be careful not to pop off the R2 buttons on the front of the controller where your forefinger goes, and that's easy to do. When you open the case you need to gently and slowly wrangle the top front of the case free of the buttons. However if the button(s) pops off don't worry, it's pretty easy to pop back on, you just need to make sure the spring goes back on in the proper position and it's no big deal. look up a video or two.

The one with the Recycle sticker is the original. Replacement did not come with legs. Mine does not have base or housing like the one found in some DIY tutorial. Since I have 3M double tapes (2 red bars), I decided to stick them to the battery and then the cover so it will not bounce around. I am not replacing the battery again.

Not necessarily the products fault, but opening up the controller can be a little tricky. I had some issues with the trigger not staying seated when trying to put it back together. My only issue with the product was that this wasn't a direct replacement for the battery, the sizing was a bit different and while it ended up working, it could be confusing for some that there's a plastic frame piece you have to remove from the controller for it to fit properly. So far it has worked, I haven't put any long play sessions on it yet. I don't expect it to hold up for a long time.

I'll be concise. These work great.I replaced the battery in a DualShock 3, it wouldn't last 4 hours on a full charge. This fit perfectly, and holds a charge well.It takes around 2 hours to completely charge.I get the zero battery life warning at around 16 hours. The controller dies around 23.Complete with flashing LED on the controller and full rumble support the entire time. For the price, ease of swapping, and renewing an old controller, you can't go wrong.

These were a perfect fit and easy to install. Worked right out of the box and so far are holding decent charges saving 40 on older PS3 controllers.

I've had a PS3 since the early days, so it's only normal for my old Dualshock 3 controllers to have lost their entire charge capacity (LiIon cells have a hard limit of 5 years of useful service). When I tore them apart, I saw swollen cells that were an absolute fire hazard. Upon searching for replacement cells, I saw nearly zero direct-fit options. Most replacement cells were actually sized to fit the Dualshock 4 controllers that come with the PS4. They were inexpensive, but I didn't want to hack into the DS3 controller bodies to make them fit. Upon further digging, I found these LIP-1359 cells that were specifically listed as fitting the DS3 controller body, so I bought two of them and crossed my fingers, since they did not match the two batteries I pulled from my launch DS3s (really tiny black squares).Upon receiving these replacements, I decided to pull apart a third DS3 controller I had which was in better shape than the two original controllers. Much to my surprise, the third controller had one of these same LIP-1359 cells with Sony branding. When I matched all three controllers up, I found that the minuscule black cells had a plastic framework that helped them fill up the mounting bracket in the controller. The LIP-1359 cells required no such adapter, and fit the framework without any issue. These are the cells you want. Not only is the LIP-1359 cell a direct-fit for the DS3 controller, but these specific cells from MPF Products took a good charge right away, lasting more than ten hours of constant gameplay. When time came to recharge, they took the new charge to the point where the system reported 100% on the controllers. After another ten-hour gaming session, the controller and PS3 reported two bars of charge. Everything is working fantastically for three days now, and while the price for the battery is higher than what you see from other offerings (all other offerings I have seen for DS3 cells have been for LIP-1389 cells, which do NOT fit the DS3 body properly), they are rock-solid and bring these old controllers back to full life.I had my doubts, but those doubts were nullified by the direct fit and charge quality of these batteries. I'll be ordering two more of these "kits" to fill my other two DS3 controllers with fresh cells. Two massive thumbs up.
