I was a bit hesitant after reading some other reviews, but this vent was perfect. We had a huge thunderstorm with wind blown rain the day after install with no water inside whatsoever (I made sure to have the back lip inside the siding and caulked the top just in case). The vent also had just a bit of flex which minimized any space between the stepped siding. FYI, you may want to add some screen on the back for piece of mind though, as the current screen will stop most bugs but not all. Total time of install after cutting the hole was about 5 minutes.

I used these on my 10 x 12 shed. Needed to vent it without worrying about rain coming in or flimsy metal grates rusting. The plastic is thick and I've seen no signs of rain entering the grates, despite heavy rains. I just caulked the outside and then stapled some window screen on the inside to keep out the smaller bugs. Works great and took the paint really well.

Just as advertised. Good quality plastic with six indented screw hole guides on the back, worked well as a side vent on a garden shed. Yes, it has a flange, which seemed to be kind of handy. It makes a great template to trace for the cutout, protrudes through the thin wooden walls, and adding a bead of caulk all around the corner perimeter where the flange meets the exterior "frame" made for a nice tight seal. Looks nice and clean once installed, as well.

Basically okay. I am a bit concerned about two things. "Screening" is just plastic bars and although the gap is fairly narrow, I wonder if smaller bugs can make it through. The louvers openings are at less than 90°. In other words, you can see through the vent when looking straight at it. I am concerned that this might allow passage of wind-blown rain. Time will tell if my concerns are valid.

Great little vent. Does just what intended for. Slots are big enough to let in good air flow but also I could see very small bugs coming in too.
