I would have given it 5 stars but the first one I got broke as I was twisting the pieces together. Despite, that issue, I was sent a new one and it went together perfectly and is holding up well to our Tennessee storms.

I bought this rain gauge because of the cute little bird figure that tops it. That bird is what you see lying on the ground at the base of the gauge. It fell off last month because of the rust that attacked the weld that attached it to the base. The base is yet another problem; it's way too flimsy to support the weight of the bird, not to mention when it's full of rain water. I was constantly having to bend the wire to plumb up the glass tube. The rust began within a week of placing it outside, so I'm amazed that it lasted as long as it did, which was about 6 months before falling apart. This is a very nice looking rain gauge that has no business being outside doing what rain gauges are supposed to do. Keep looking!

Very happy with this darling rain gauge. It's about as sturdy as possible, considering size & material., but oh so cute and serves the purpose. Reasonably priced.

Extremely easy to assemble, nice clear, easy to empty glass tube, but the stake which goes into the ground is flimsy, barely attaches to the holder, you turn it one revolution and that's it. Needs 2 or 3 turns to be sturdy, but you cannot do that. I'll update after the first windy thunderstorm to see if it tips over.

Large glass tube for an easy readout.Very pretty and is a nice addition to my garden. As others have said it was a little wobbly and lopsided but I gently worked with the coil and now it looks great. Glad I ordered it!

The gauge is set into the ground and can be placed anywhere you want. The glass cylinder slides out of the brass holder to allow for the measurement to be read. The cylinder has clear markings to see exactly how much rain was caught. Nicer than expected, a good product, especially for small gardens or patios.
