Shown in the 1st photo is standard 3/4" pvc sprinkler pipe (which actually measures 1" OD) and the "guide' that centers the pipe in the device for cutting the threads. Since the pipe is actually 1" in diameter OD, it makes sense that it doesn't fit that guide. But the largest guide and cutters (see the third photo) that are labled 1" are way too big.The tool comes with two drop-in guides, one 1/2" and one 3/4", and with only the built-in guide, is able to handle 1" diameter pipe (3rd photo). It comes with cutters for 1/2", 3/4", and 1" pipe. No instructions are included. I don't know who to contact to find some. The 4th photo is of the two pipes I wanted to thread. They actually measure a bit over 1" diameter OD. In any case none of the cutters can thread standard PVC water pipe. The pipe measures 1" diameter, but the cutter and guide labeled 1" are much too big to in any way work. The cutter that measures 3/4" is just a bit too small, and without a guide, impossible to use. A pvc cap I have that is labeled 3/4" fits these pipes well. Seems to be an industry standard that 3/4" pvc pipe is actually a bit over 1" in diameter.I've decided to glue on plugs, putting my project far behind. I've returned the threading kit. None of the parts fit standard pvc water pipe. Sad that it didn't work (or make sense). So much for the PVC Thread Maker Tool Pipe Threader Plumbing Tool Kit Plastic Pipe Round Die Set

It does what it is supposed to but it is difficult as the handles are not long enough to get a lot of leverage. You have to keep backing it up and starting again after removing excess pvc material cut from the pipe.

I tried them on all kinds of plastic and PVC type pipes and they need to be longer and have a more gradual thread action. These grab and break the pipe.

It simply does not work. I tried threading the ends of three different 1/2 inch PVC pipe. Two were schedule 40 and the third was the grey electrical PVC conduit that is schedule 80. While I know that the schedule should not make any difference, I was simply trying a few different pieces of 1/2" PVC in an attempt to get something threaded. I couldn't even get this tool to start making threads. To help the tool get started I used a hand held deburring/reamer as well as trying a drill mounted reamer. Still no matter how hard I pushed and turned this thing, it would not even get started making threads!I finally gave up and ordered regular steel die and handle set for threading metal pipe and it worked as it should. I just thought for PVC I could get away with something a little less robust, and cheaper, but not this time. So don't waste your time and money on this thing, it's a complete failure!I returned mine for store credit.

The tubing brakes apart when used on used pbc. Had to use to much force In order to get it to tread with no luck. If you have arthritis in your hands this is not for you unless you have someone to help you! The product is not flimsy like others say!
