My husband asked me to order two of these for him. I did not read all the details and if you purchase this item and need to return it, you can not return it thru Amazon...which is what i did. Now, instead of getting a large refund on my credit card, I received an Amazon gift card. I definitely will not be ordering from this company again. And while I'm at it, another thing that my husband failed to notice is that the measurement for this item is for the exterior, not the interior. This of course is noted in smaller font than the exterior measurement. And I just find that stupid. No one is buying this for the exterior measurement, they want it to fit a standard sized product.

I really liked the idea of the anchors into the deck/porch are under the location when the posts sit. That seemed to be fine. The problem is the holes for mounting to the posts are only on two sides, and the holes are covered with a rather large cap that interferes with the rails of the deck. The quality of the material is fine, but I have already thrown these out and bought a more traditional set of mounts. This item is really only suited to a very specific layout. Choose wisely

Actual measurements are 7.5” x 7.5”. Take this is consideration if you use timber frame. I need to resize mounting holes to use bigger anchors to concrete. Otherwise love product

This size brackets were very expensive everywhere we looked. Bought these only because of free returns because I was expecting the quality that I needed. These worked perfectly and are very well made.

It will not offer rigidity or stability by itself as you can sway the post in both directions. That is fine when building a pavillion like I am. The structure itself is already rigid.It will not work well for something like a free standing hand rail that isn't attached to anything else. That's not what it's for.It is constructed well, without welds, and the coating is pretty good. I accidentally gouged one; nothing that rustoleom satin black couldn't fix.My only criticism is there are only two mounting holes somewhat in the center. On two of the mounts, the hole fell right between deck boards so I had to drill my ownThe material is extremely tough (good) so it burnt up my drill bit (bad) If only it had 4-8 holes in it so there's optionsI also like the price. They are a very good value for this price point. I'm glad I chose them.

These matched the size, style, and price for my needs (replacing some porch posts). But, I didn't believe that they would actually be made of stainless. I mean, who paints stainless when a powder coat is 80% as good and much cheaper.Well, they arrived today and a magnet shows they really are made of stainless steel. Happily surprised.

We have 12 cypress posts on our porches and these brackets complimented the post and look great. These are well made and we highly recommend these brackets.
