Easy to assemble and durable Shepard's pole suitable for hanging various deco items in the yard or garden. The base has an impressive 4 stakes in addition to the center pole spear. With that foundation I do not anticipate much swaying or leaning. I've just put some lightweight items on it for early Spring but will probably use it for double hanging flower baskets once May rolls around. Nothing fancy to detract from the showcase object and the price is right.

For starters, then quality for the price on this is incredible. Love the thickness of the top to support heavy bird seed. Also - I'm thrilled about four ground posts. We have a bear challenge in our yard. If we don't take them down early enough in the evening, the bears are going after the feeders. They will bend these right to the ground - but with this one I think it has a fighting chance! Very happy with this.

I was very skeptical of ordering this product - I kind of assumed it wouldn't be very good, and I'm pleasantly surprised. I was drawn in by the four prongs at the bottom to stabilize the hook, I have a current one with one hook and just two prongs, and I've had to move it several times as it comes loose. I have two additional bird feeders in a tree, so I'm moving those over to the pole.The pole on this piece screw together. Most of it is metal, though, there are plastic caps on the end of the hooks. Think of it as a metal tube with plastic caps. I had an easy time putting this together and the instructions were clear. The construction is reasonable for the price point it's listed at.The base though, I love. I was able to put this in place by myself, and it does wiggle a bit like all poles, but it feels more solid then my other, solid metal pole. The lighter weight might actually be an advantage in my sandy soil.I've already had a cardinal come visit and check out the new digs.

Easy peasy to assemble - my child (under 10) put it together without a hitch! Pipe used for this shepherd crook style hander is a good, solid gauge and should last for many seasons. The paint coverage of the metal is good, and the multi-prong base makes it super stable in the ground, which solves my number one peeve for this type of hanger - the gradual leaning that occurs when it's only a two prong in-ground stake. I have to admit that wrought iron hangers are my number one choice because they last forever, but it's almost impossible to find one with such a robust in-ground stake. And did I mention that this hanger is about half the price of a wrought iron one? We have a winner.

This is surprisingly strong and well-designed. We've gotten several shepherd's hooks at this point and this might be my favorite of the ones needing some assembly. It went together very easily and feels very sturdy and strong. I like the height. One side will be for a humming bird feeder and the other possibly a carpenter bee trap.The overall hook has a bit of weight to it. For now, we are experiencing "I forget how many tornado warnings we've had this week so far" along with absurd amounts of rain so we can't put this outside just yet. I have taken pictures inside but am eager to get this put up in a garden when I can. Notice the twist to tighten wingnut--really secures everything in place.I am impressed with hook and will probably look for more from this company should I need more hooks in the future.

Love many things about this shepherd's hook: VERY strong and sturdy with 4 deep prongs at the base to keep the center post steady, very easy assembly, and appreciate the ability to modify height. What I didn't think to check when selecting this item is the reach distance of the "hook" section...they are hooks supposedly for bird feeders and/or flower planters and I just (wrongly) assumed the reach of each arm would be long enough for all kinds of feeders and/or planters--so I'm sadly disappointed that my globe-shaped cage style feeder cannot be hung on this post because the hook section is too close to the post, making it tip sideways, nor can two different styles of birdhouse style feeders (same problem)--and also when feeders are in contact with the post, they give stability for squirrels to access the adjacent feeder.In sum, great 5 star shepherd's hook overall but limited in use so minus one star as ONLY for tube style or other long narrow style feeders (or wind chimes...can't imagine for flowers).
