I like these Lummi sticks. They have a mellow sound compared to traditional hardwood claves. They seem to be a good choice for kids since they are unfinished and have nice rounded ends. The mellow sound will be easier on the ears. The only thing I don't like is the carrying bag is just a clear plastic bag with a drawstring closure, which I find kind of strange.

My wife teaches music classes to little kiddos, and ive joked about the expensive wooden sticks she has branded with the studio name. Anyway, I thought she could do with a few more so got her these. They are a nice feeling stick with rounded ends, larger than i thought they'd be. To my ear they sound exactly like every other stick, but the teacher tells me her fancier sticks marginally sound better. If youre in a situation where you dont have to perform a side by side comparison with anything fancier, these will be great.
