Easy to fix cords that come out of hoodies or drawstrings from shorts and sweatpants. Dang little elves that live in the washer like to pull out the strings from clothing. These threaders help put them back through the channels. They also come in handy when the elves challenge me for a duel.

The word "rope" brings to mind a thick, utiltarian cable. Depending on the size of "rope" these implements might still work, especially if you are working with a cable under 1/4" thick. These bodkins shine as a way to insert original or replacement round or flat elastics into casings such as in swimwear and waistbands on exercise pants. You can tie a temporary knot in the one style of bodkin and adjust the clamp to grab flat elastics simply by sliding the small ring up and down the shaft of the other style. The bodkins that don't have the clamp should also work just fine when weaving with fat yarns.
