What don’t you like about hitching up, forgetting the hitch back in the garage. That’s what ! install this on the trailer and that won’t happen. Use a secure lock on it to hold your slide in part of your hitch and you won’t forget where it’s at. Down side the mount bolts aren’t long enough, I had to buy 4 longer bolts. Good otherwise to solve a problem.

I put a pencil next to the bottom plate for thickness comparison. It's close to 5/16" thick. Big 5" 3/8 bolts 8.8 grade. I didn't know it comes with an anti-rattle bolt on top, a nice bonus. The length of the receiver is 7" total front to back, the hole is from front to center of hole 2-1/2".I purchased this so I could make use of a open metal mesh hitch carrier I have, since I have a pickup I could convert it into a generator carrier for the RV. I did purchase separately 4" u-bolts and pre-punched angle iron to use as bracing, keep it from tipping side to side. Also, in case of bolt failure. I might update this review in a year and show the overall result.I like the heavy metal feel and painting, feels like a good quality product. Nice solid welded joints, no spot welding.

Couldn't be more pleased with the strength and build of this Adapter. Easy to install and has that little extra width for those of us with aluminum covered bumpers. (Some other 4" units won't fit).Perfect for our new 4-bike hitch on the back of our motorhome. What is also nice is that we won't have to remove the bike hitch in order to hitch or remove our tow dolly from our frame-mounted hitch.This a very easy Five Star product rating. Great product, great value for the price! I can honestly and very heartily recommend this superb Adapter!
