The bracket is heavy duty and works well, not too hard to install, the only problem I have with it is that the security latch is too small to get an average padlock through the hole and if you drilled it out to make it fit it would be too flimsy for its purpose. Otherwise...5 stars.

I used this on my kayak. There is one specifically designed for a kayak but I didn't like the complaints that the base plastic template that this sits on bends. This version is a bit longer but solves the bending template issue and provides greater strength. Sure its a bit heavier but no worries for me regarding motor falling off the mount.

it adds a little heighth to the overall stance of the TM when stowed. other than that it seems to lock on good. Alittle concerning that we use 6 bolts to attach the TM to the boat but this plate only has to point to secure the brackets together. Time will tell.

This works really good and is identical to the Motorguide brand. For those that have two boats and want to switch trolling motors between them, this is a perfect solution without the expense of a 2nd troller. Easy to install

I needed two of these mounts and so I bought original motorguide and this one which was significantly less money. They are literally the same except for the package it came in!
